Hyper converged - VLAN? - Sync1/iSCSI1 etc

Hi,
I am evaluating the two node hyper converged scenario with StarWind v8 on own hardware.

1)
Is there any performance / stable differences if the StarWind software is installed on the "parent Hyper-V" environment OR inside a "nested VM" ?

2)
Trying to config a dual port Chesio T580 40Gbps NIC as a VLAN (on the parent level scenario), as recommended in a StarWind pdf paper (Sync1, iSCSI Data1, Sync2, iSCSI Data2).
How?
If I config the NIC to VLAN, it wants a VLAN ID and only one ID can be configured.

For my Proof-of-Concept I took one port now for Sync and one port for iSCSI.
But I am missing the redudancy / failover concept.

3)
How big is the performance degrad if not accessing the LUNs over the loopback (127.0.0.1)?

Of curse Starwind installed directly on Hyper-v will perform highly performance.

And about configuring VLAN, here is the tricks which was helpful for me https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/kei ... rver-2012/
As far as I know, Starwind has loopback accelerator, so the connection should be over loopback.

Hi,
if you install StarWind on the "parent vm" there is no Multi vlan -> vm possible.

And exactly that technical paper brought me to two vlans with Sync/iscsi combination....

At the Moment I see no real big Performance improvement doing hyper converged and loopback Scenario.
Comparing with a over four year old Hardware and StarWind v6 ha Images, there is no big Performance gain (difference) to StarWind v8 (lsfs / flat / loopack / TCPIP)...

I don`t remember about V6 but might be in some last versions was loopback accelerator.
And loopback accelerator is working only with win server 2012+
