Automount is also disabled when using CHAP authentication. While it might be a security oxymoron to automount something with a password, having a locally stored password decrypted automatically is still better than allowing a connection if a client simply knows the IQN.

Just to confirm - you are talking about the StarPort now, correct?

Is that software still supported? Some time has passed by now. So I assume there were numerous updates to it, right? I am from [ ... ], where I can read about these developments in more detail? Please send me some ideas or resources to learn more about the software. Thank you very much for your tips and help.

StarPort in a way of iSCSI initiator is a discontinued product.

StarPort is discontinued product. Use Microsoft iSCSI initiator in your production.
