Hi There
I converted C volume of a windows server 2012 to vhdx file using disk volume converter, added that to the hyper-V but could not boot up the machine, any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks
Reza

Hi,
Could you tell me what was the conversion source, did conversion run smoothly, and what is the error you see while booting the VM?

Hi
It was a physical server 2012 R2 which I used 2 methods and everything went smoothly during the process.
1. I converted the disk volume, then added to Hyoer-V, I just get blinking cursor and nothing more.
2. I converted physical disk, then added to Hyper-V, I am getting (Windows failed to start, A recent hardware or software change might be the cause)

Welcome to the StarWind forum.
May I wonder what was the conversion scenario (original disk type and destination one).
Did system volume undergo conversion? Please consider updating drivers as it looks to me as a system-only issue.

It may definitey happen if the server is overloaded, i guess, but also for lack of space on server
