question TSM and checkout volumes

Goodday

We do a checkout of a VTL Tape.
In STARWIND VTL this tape goes to the offsite shelf and uploaded to WASABI.
When we insert this tape again. This tape is still having data on it.
But we need them to be a scratch tape.

Should we better delete the VTL TAPE and recreate a new one and then checkin this volume as scratch in TSM?

Or do you have other advise voor standwind vtl and Tsm?

You can re-use that tape in your backup software.
