Hello I wanted to check and see if i was missing anything. My question is in regards to a deduplicated HA disk. I initially believed this was possible. in this previous thread http://www.starwindsoftware.com/forums/ ... hilit=high availability deduplication#p16541

it says it now supports other device types. is this true?, i thought maybe it is, but not avaialble in the free version. the reason i say that is when i go to create an HA target if choose browse it only give option for IMG, then if i just specify a pre-created deduplicated disk and hit next its says invalid format. (this is working with the latest version )

is this correct or is there another step from creating deduplicated HA devices. (replica?)

ok i figured it out, the last option that says to connect to device really means virtual device. where the previous option refers to IMG vdisk. then you can try deduplicated or other types of vdisks.

But i do have a follow up question . if i copy the same 10gb file 15 times it will sho up as filling up the 128gb limit but on actual disk it will only be roughly 10gb. is the 128gb limit imposed on the size of actual use on physical disk or just inside vdisk size?

128 is the size of the storage that will be presented to the client machine.

I hope it helped
