Is Asynchronous Replication over WAN possible using Native SAN for Hyper-V? ie: Can I buy 2 servers to use in HA on my local network that are connected together directly via the Native SAN for Hyper-V 2 node configuration, and then buy a 3rd server to send offsite to be a source for recovery purposes?
If so, are the system requirements for the 3rd/remote server to be as powerful as the 2 servers in use on the local network, or is adequate storage space just the concern?

Another question related to Asynchronous Replication over WAN in general... Can the backups created using the Backup Plugin for Hyper-V also be sent offsite to the WAN/3rd node, and not just the active replication data?

Technically it is possible (both of your plans/questions), but for now this feature is experimental, which means that it is highly not recommended to put it into production environment.

Thank you for the reply! This is mostly for future planning for some of our clients, so it wouldn't be something we'd put into production yet.
What about the 3rd/remote node system configuration, does it have to be as powerful a server as the other two local HA nodes?

It should have at least 1Gbps with <5ms latency connection to the primary sites.
