Hi,
we have a 2node Win2008R2SP1 failover cluster, which have CSVs on two Starwind v6 HA over 4x1Gbps iSCSI connection.
Making Hyper-V backups with Altaro make a VSS snapshot and takes quit a long time (up to 4hr) for one vm.
What is wrong?
What about your VSS provider software? It is not installed yet.
Would the VSS provider software reduce the time / load / impact of backups?
If yes, can we install the VSS provider software without any big changes on the HA environment?
THX
Raymond

This is normal with V6. V8 will have updated hardware VSS for both LSFS and FLAT (ex-Image Files) so there would be no redirected mode with any backup: VEEAM, Altaro, Symantec etc. Please stay tuned!

Then officially released version of V8 Is it right? No backup part, or the testing stage did not provide. Thank you.

VM backup engine was licensed and would be replaced with the other vendor in V8.
