Hi from Germany,
I always get a little bit confused, when downloading files from StarWindSoftware:

1)
I miss the version / release of the starwind.exe file.
It is a bit anoying to keep track, is the starwind.exe the 5.8 version or 6.0.5713 or 6.0.6399 or 8.0.6798 and so on.

2)
I would like to know, do I have a bought "edition" or is it the "free edition".
It is no good practice, to find out which version was installed AFTER a complete installation.

3)
And now you (or better the marketing I think) StarWindSoftware makes new product names:

With Version 8 -- StarWind® Virtual SAN™ for xxx or only StarWind® SAN™

Is it "Classic" and/or "for Hyper-V" and/or "for VMware" ???

Could you make for different products / use cases additional info, which papers are for which (future) product.

In the download area, please add a note / text, that for example the VSS-Download is only for Version 6 and so on...

5)
And last bot not least,
what about the price lists and pricing for v8 ?

Items 2) and 3) I believe the downloads are all the same. The different download buttons are to help direct queries to the relevant support. The license determines the product capabilities.

Item 5) pricing not published, by sales query only. There is some feedback about why here on page 2 http://www.starwindsoftware.com/forums/ ... tml#p20187

1) We'll do @ some point. Minor issue so we've missed it...

2) Installer is unified. You apply the key and it turns on and off features and functionality.

3) We have one and only product now StarWind Virtual SAN V8. It's both bare metal (dedicated) and hyper-converged @ the same time.

4) We'll just clean it our removing V6 artifacts pretty soon. Please give us a couple of weeks to do a site-related homework.

5) There are no plans to disclose StarWind pricing on public. Want to have the most recent snapshot of SKUs - contact sales.
