I purchased licenses for NativeSAN for HV (6) and before implementation, decided to test at home with a free license. After creating an HA image (127GB) and connecting both hosts to iSCSI 127.0.0.1, I successfully accessed the device on both host servers. I noticed that the sync time was horrendous, creating files on one server hadn't replicated in 20 minutes and only replicated after a reboot. The management console displayed that the servers were synced. As we intend to put virtual machines on the licensed NativeSAN, I wonder if you could advise if the poor sync time is a limitation of the free version, or if I should expect this performance in the licensed version. If this is the case, the product is unusable. Also, is there anywhere to configure the sync interval? I expected active-active to be immediate.

Thanks

V6 is not supported anymore. Upgrade to V8 and if you'll have similar issues (I doubt as V8 has a loopback accelerator driver and does not use TCP when doing any 127.0.0.1 or any other local IP addresses, VERY different from V6 making long story short) please let us know and we'll be happy to take a look.

Free version is not anyhow performance limited so it may be many reasons starting from improper StarWind config and ending with firewall stuff. But again, upgrade to StarWind Virtual SAN V8 (contact sales@starwindsoftware.com for proper license as V6 used binary keys and V8 does XML) with your purchase info and they would be happy to help.
